1. Who we are
This site is operated by Coastal Living Essentials ("we," "us," or "our").
- Privacy contact: joey@joeybayer.com
- Hosted on Netlify (netlify.com)
- We share content on our Facebook Page (Coastal Living Essentials), a separate company with its own privacy policy
2. What this site does
On coastalpicks.com you can browse product listings, read our description or opinion for each one, and click an Amazon link to view or buy the product on Amazon. Once you leave for Amazon, Amazon controls that visit, checkout, payment, and delivery.
3. What we don't do
We do not run a newsletter, create user accounts, use contact or comment forms, or build a file of named visitors. We do not collect email addresses on this site — the only email tied to this site is joey@joeybayer.com, for people who choose to write to us directly. We never receive your Amazon password, card number, or shipping address.
4. Technical data collected automatically
- Netlify (hosting): processes standard server data needed to deliver the page — IP address, browser type, requested URL, time of request.
- Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to see aggregate site use (which pages are viewed, general location, device type) via cookies or similar technology, for site measurement only.
- Amazon: if you click an affiliate link, Amazon may use cookies or other tracking to attribute a later purchase to our site.
- Facebook: if you arrive from our Facebook Page, our logs or Analytics may show that a visit came from Facebook. We do not run social logins on this site.
5. How we use this data
To operate and secure the site, see which product pages get viewed, understand referral traffic, and allow Amazon to attribute a qualifying purchase. We never use this site to send marketing email.
6. Amazon Associates
We participate in the Amazon Associates Program. Links on this site are Amazon affiliate links. If you click one, Amazon may place cookies, collect information from your browser, and — if you buy — process that purchase under Amazon's own terms and privacy notice. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We don't control Amazon's prices, stock, or checkout, and we don't receive your full order history.
Amazon's privacy notice: amazon.com/privacy-notice
Disclosure: As an Amazon Associate, Coastal Living Essentials earns from qualifying purchases.
7. Cookies
This site may involve cookies from Google Analytics, cookies set by Amazon after you click through, and any essential cookies our host needs to serve the page. You can block cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to read our content — though it may prevent Amazon from crediting a purchase to us and limit our Analytics.
If you're in the EEA or UK, non-essential cookies (including analytics and affiliate cookies) generally need your consent before they're set.
8. Who processes data
Visit data may be processed by Netlify (hosting), Google (Analytics), Amazon (if you click through), and Meta/Facebook (if you arrive via our Page). We do not sell or share an email list — we don't have one.
In some U.S. states, sharing data with advertising or analytics companies can be treated as a "sale" or "share." You can limit this by managing cookies in your browser and using opt-outs like YourAdChoices where they apply.
9. Retention
We keep no visitor profiles of our own. Netlify logs and Google Analytics data are retained per each provider's standard settings. Emails sent to us are kept only as long as needed to respond. Amazon retains its own purchase records — we don't have access to them.
10. Your rights
For data we control (an email you sent us, questions about Analytics), contact joey@joeybayer.com. For an Amazon order or account, contact Amazon directly. For Facebook data, use Facebook's own settings.
11. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete what we can.
12. International visitors
Our hosting and vendors (Netlify, Google, Amazon) may process data in the United States. Visiting from another country may involve a data transfer.
13. Security
This site uses standard hosting security, but no website is completely secure. Never send payment details to us directly — all purchases happen on Amazon.
14. Product descriptions
Text on coastalpicks.com reflects our own opinions and summaries. Live pricing, availability, and seller details are on Amazon once you click through.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. Updates will be posted here with a revised date.
